Car Free Day is coming to Tucson. International Car Free Day is celebrated on September 22, but that’s a Sunday, so we’re going to celebrate the day all weekend. Just pledge to leave your car at home one day or every day and take the bus, bike, walk, or carpool to work, the mall, the gym, or anywhere.

Car Free Tucson is September 20, 21 or 22. When you pledge you’ll qualify for some great prizes:

E-book reader with Wi-Fi
$100 and $50 Fry’s gift cards
$100 and $50 Walmart gift cards
Sun Rideshare Commuter Mug, Flashlight and Thermal Lunch Box
Mrs. Green Reusable Shopping Bag

Go to Pima Association of Governments www.carfreetucson.org to pledge today. Call 884-Ride(7433) or email sunrideshare@pagnet.org if you have any questions.

Only 373 people have signed up so far online, so please participate if you can.

I pledged (for at least one day), won’t you? Alternatives to driving: walking & jogging, skateboarding, biking, vanpooling, carpooling, even using a segway, taking the Sun Tran bus.
